Semantics and Pragmatics, a new LSA journal

S&P logo Together with MIT linguist Kai von Fintel (he of Semantics etc.), I'm starting a new peer-reviewed, open access journal to be called Semantics and Pragmatics. We made the official launch announcement at the SALT conference last month, will open for submissions later this year, and will go into production in early 2008. We hope to match other top journals in the area for quality, beat them if we can on submission-to-publication turnaround time, and beat them hands down on price. Our annual subscription rate will be permanently set at half that of Language Log. And vice versa.

Our big news today is that the Linguistic Society of America (LSA) has accepted Semantics and Pragmatics as an LSA affiliate journal, as part of their new eLanguage initiative. We're very excited about this development! You can read the full story, and give us your comments, on our editors blog.
